About Boxels
Boxels LLC is a creator-focused software company based in Spanish Fork, Utah. We build practical, creative web tools for artists, makers, and storytellers who want control over their work—not bloated platforms, opaque algorithms, or short-lived trends.
A 25-year journey in the making
Boxels didn’t start as a company. It started as a habit.
More than 25 years ago, long before “creator economy” was a phrase and before SaaS was a business model, the work behind Boxels began with building things simply because they needed to exist—animations, tools, websites, games, workflows, and experiments that made creative work easier or more expressive.
Over the years, that work spanned:
- hand-built websites in the early days of the web,
- animation and motion projects for storytelling and education,
- indie software tools built to solve very specific creative problems,
- experiments in video, music, design, and interactive media,
- and long stretches of learning what not to build.
Boxels is the result of distilling those decades of trial, error, and iteration into something more focused: a home for tools that respect the craft.
Why Boxels exists
Most modern creative platforms optimize for engagement, growth charts, or investor narratives. Boxels optimizes for something simpler:
- tools that do what they say they do,
- interfaces that stay out of the way,
- exports you can actually use,
- and workflows that don’t fight you.
We believe creators should own their work, understand their tools, and be able to build without constantly worrying about sudden platform shifts or hidden limitations.
What we build
Boxels is a growing collection of web applications for creative work—animation tools, design utilities, video workflows, and other purpose-built apps.
Each app is treated as its own product, not a checkbox feature:
- some tools are free,
- some are part of paid subscriptions,
- all are designed to be useful on their own.
Some tools allow public sharing of projects. Others are built for private workflows. The goal is flexibility without forcing creators into a single model.
Our approach to technology (including AI)
We’re cautious and intentional about new technology.
While Boxels may introduce AI-assisted features in the future, we don’t believe AI should replace creativity or quietly exploit user content. Any AI tools we add will be designed to assist, accelerate, or simplify work—never to take ownership of it.
When AI features are introduced, we aim to be clear about:
- what data is processed,
- what is and isn’t stored,
- and what control users have.
Independent by design
Boxels LLC is independently owned and operated.
That independence allows us to move slower when needed, faster when it matters, and make decisions based on long-term usefulness rather than short-term hype.
We’re building Boxels to last—not just for the next trend cycle, but for creators who plan to keep making things for years to come.
